This week I am sharing one of my favourite makeups that is a perfect evening look. This mysterious bronze makeup is great to wear on a date, fancy dinner, for a vacation, for parties or simply to feel super bronzy during the nights. This makeup works on everyone but if the bold bronze lip is too bright for you, then you can tone it down a bit by using a warm nude lip shade instead (I just wanted to go all out). As for me, I have always loved warm tones!! So, let’s get started on how you can create this look yourself! BTW, if you’re not in a reading mood, scroll all the way down for the YouTube tutorial 😉
MOISTURISER & PRIMER
My first step is always moisturizing the skin and I’m using Himalaya Herbals Protective Sunscreen Lotion. Moisturizing reduces the chances of skin problems and daily moisturizing is vital for a healthy skin. Before applying makeup using a moisturizer is very important as it helps create a thin barrier between your skin and the products you use. It also makes the skin supple and smoother.
Next, I’m priming my skin with the Colorbar Perfect Match Primer. A primer is supposed to be a base for all of your makeup. It helps condition your skin and holds your makeup for super long hours making you look fresh, crisp and radiant. I also used a second primer for my nose and the area around it. If you have large pores or an uneven skin tone, consider this primer to help reduce or minimize the appearance of pores. The Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer is one of my favourites for this purpose.
FOUNDATION & CONCEALER
When I started on this makeup I didn’t really have a good skin; I had some spots and couple of pimples and blemishes. So, I used the M.A.C Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer – Pure Orange. I gently applied & blended the corrector over all the spots, pimples & blemishes with a fluffy blending brush like the Wet n Wild Pro Brush Line – Fluffy Blending Brush. A skin corrector just masks the imperfections and brings a healthy color back to the skin. Then, I used a concealer by L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD – In a pure beige tone, over all the corrected areas. This concealer has an opaque coverage featuring creamy, yet lightweight texture that camouflages dark spots, along with dark circles and fine lines. It also helps brighten the look of your skin and blurs it for perfection.
For my base, I used the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation + Concealer and to apply it I used a beauty blender which I sprayed with the M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix+. The M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix+ is a lightweight mist of water packed with vitamins and minerals, it is infused with a blend of Green Tea, Chamomile and Cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin. In other words; it instantly hydrates your skin. The Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation + Concealer is my new favorite product. Firstly, because it is a full coverage, water-resistant foundation and concealer. Secondly, it resists extreme humidity and erases redness, under eye circles and any skin imperfections without drying out the skin. Lastly, It has a nice creamy formula that blends seamlessly and gives a smooth, radiant finish. So, all the more reason to adore this foundation. To set my base I used the M.A.C Splash And Last Pro Longwear Powder/Pressed – Medium Golden. This product gives a velvety matte finish which promises zero shine.
BLUSH, CONTOURING & HIGHLIGHTING
For contouring, I used the L.A. Girl Pro Contour Cream. This creamy contour product has a buttery, soft formula that melts into the skin for a natural matte finish. It just helps me sculpt and define my facial features. To set it, I used the Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Contour Palette. I feel contouring and highlighting go together like chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream. The trick of contouring is that it makes it look like there are natural shadows on your face that would be there if your face had the absolute perfect shape. But since all our faces are a bit wider or rounder or chubbier or flatter or whatever (you get the point) than we’d like, we have to create those shadows ourselves, it’s basically and optical illusion. The basic places for contouring include the area under your jawline, the sides of your temples, and the hollows of your cheekbones, the sides of your nose and your hairline.
For Highlighting, I didn’t do much, I just set the makeup with a loose powder by Bharat & Dorris Loose Powder – No.7 . Highlighting enhances the structure of the face by highlighting the good bits like the tops of your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, etc. For my cheeks I used the Deborah Natural Blush. I feel, a blush provides a youthful appearance and gives the skin a healthy-looking glow. I have applied my blush in an angular motion blending from the apples of my cheeks towards my temples. Next, I illuminated all the higher sections of my face with the Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Contour Palette. I feel Illuminators bring an overall radiance to your skin by adding a touch of shimmer.
For my eye base, I used the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD. This is a crease resistant, blendable and buildable formula concealer. It just evens out the skin tone and eliminates all redness and fine veins over my eye lids. I set it with the M.A.C Splash And Last Pro Longwear Powder/Pressed – Medium Golden to create a clean canvas, ready for eye-shadow.
Next, I used the Bharat & Dorris Powder Blush – No.7 as my transition shade. A transition shade is something that helps to merge colors together, and also gives some depth to your eyeshadow. Then, I used a deep brown shade from the Faces Ultime Pro Eye Shadow Palette – Nude 01. These are highly pigmented shades with intense colour pay-off. I buried this shade right into my crease line for some more depth. Further I used a Bronze shade from the same palette and I sprayed the M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix+ for better delivery over my eyelids. I also highlighted the inner corners of my lower eyes with the same bronze shade from the Faces Ultime Pro Eye Shadow Palette – Nude 01.
Now just to warm it up, I applied a black eye-shadow called Carbon – Mac with a fluffy blending brush just on the outer corners of my eyes. I also applied the same shade with a Faces eye-shadow brush on my lower lash line. Next, I defined my eyes with Nykaa 24H Vinyl Luxe Eyeliner. It is a Water-resistant and smudge-proof product with a matte finish that perfectly fits my requirement. For my lower eyes, I applied the Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner – Black. What I really like about this gel eye liner is whether you go thick, thin, smudged or smokey, your look will last for super long hours. It is smudge proof guaranteed.
Then I felt my eye makeup needed a little more intensity, so once again I applied a black eye-shadow, Carbon – Mac just on the outer corners of my eyes to give it some more depth and further blended it to diffuse any harsh or firm lines.
LASHES & BROWS
For my lashes, I used the In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara by Mac. This product has a lightweight whipped formula which adds dense volume, extends the length and creates curl while conditioning it for softness and flexibility. It has this curl lock formula and delivers intense volume without flaking or bleeding.
Now, I always like to add a little “drama” to my look, so I have opted for falsies by Huda Beauty, I used the Huda Beauty Classic Lash – Lana #10. I used the Glamgals Eyelash Glue for my falsies. This glues just makes my lash application quick & easy with its fine tip & easy brush-on applicator.
For my brows, I used my all-time favourite L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Genius Kit. This product has wax, powder and a two sided brush, so it’s kind of a one-stop shop and pretty much all you need for your eyebrows. So I just filled it with an angular brush like the Vega Angular Brush (PB-08) to go from sparse to bold brows with ease. This kit helps me create perfect brows!
I defined my lips & filled it with a L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lip Linner Couture – 630 Beige. I always recommend lip liners as they are the secret to the perfect all day lipstick, by defining the outline of the lips and holding the colour in place. For my lipstick I used the Nykaa Matte To Last! Liquid Lipstick – Madras-Kaapi. It is a fabulous deep brown shade and it lasts for super long hours.
Since this is a Mysterious Bronze look, I just wanted to go all out and add on some more drama so I applied the bronze eye-shadow from the Faces Ultime Pro Eye Shadow Palette – Nude 01. I just wanted to be a Bronze Queen.
