A real boho look (see previous post) is not complete without a sun kissed makeup. I love the whole bohemian beach vibe this look carries, it gives my skin such a beautiful glow and the whole thing just works, I don’t know how else to put it. Let’s get started on how you can create this look yourself! BTW, if you’re not in a reading mood, scroll all the way down for the YouTube tutorial 😉
BASE & BROWS
I did my base exactly as per my previous tutorial, you can read it here or watch it below. The only thing I did was a little extra highlighting, after all this is a sun kissed makeup. I used the M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish – Soft & Gentle and applied it with a PAC Fluffy Tapered Brush – 245.
So now that we got the base covered (got it?? 😉 ) let’s talk about brows. I used the L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Genius Kit Medium To Dark and I love this kit because it has wax, powder and a brush, so it’s kind of a one-stop shop and pretty much all you need for your eyebrows. The brush is pretty small though and it’s never a bad idea to have a good angular brush in your collection to use on your brows, I’d suggest the Vega Angular Brush (PB-08). However, if you want that little extra lift, I would recommend using a brow mascara like the NYX Professional Makeup Tinted Brow Mascara – Brunette Brown.
Always, always, always use an eye makeup base, that is if you want your makeup to last and not look in the mirror at the end of the day and wonder what happened to all the effort you put in the morning. I used the M.A.C Pro Longwear Paint Pot – Painterly as my base and applied it with a PAC Eyeshadow Brush – 091. Boho is all about that glowy look (I don’t know a better word) so no hard lines, that’s why I used an eye kohl pencil and no liquid eye liner at all. I used India’s no. 1, all-time favourite, must-have, can’t go without it Lakme Eyeconic Kajal. Apply it on your upper and lower lash lines. No need to worry about making it perfect, you’re going to smudge it out anyways using a GlamGals Black Sponge Eye Shadow Brush because remember, no sharp lines, you want that dreamy glow effect.
For the first layer of eyeshadow I used a Bharat & Dorris Powder Blush – No.7 with a PAC Eyeshadow Blending Brush – 260 and applied it on my eye lids and in my crease line, all the while blending it really well. Then, to create a little depth, I used a dark eye shadow, the M.A.C Matte Eye Shadow – Carbon at the outer corners of my eye lids and just beneath my crease line. Then with a clean blending brush just blend, blend, blend! Then with a flat eye shadows brush like the PAC Eyeshadow Brush – 091 apply a warm beige eyeshadow on the inner section of your eyelids. I used the bold beige from the Maybelline New York The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. You can read my review on this palette here.
For my lower lash line I used the same Bharat & Dorris Powder Blush – No.7 and extended it to match my upper eye makeup. Then to give another element of glow to the look, I used the gold shade from the same Maybelline New York The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette and a Beter Beauty Accessories Eye Shadow Brush – Small to create a highlight in the inner corners of my eyes and, I just can’t say it enough, blend again, I used a MyGlamm Eye Shadow Blending Brush. Finally I used the same gold eyeshadow right below my brow arch for yet another glow added to this sun kissed look. Wipe of the excess product with a Fan Brush and your eye shadow is done!
LASHES & LIPS
To create beautiful looking lashes you actually don’t need more than an eyelashes curler and a good mascara, like for example the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara. However, I always like to add a little “drama” to my look, especially when I am doing a photoshoot, so I usually opt for false lashes. I went with my favourite ones, the PAC Eye Lashes – 54.
The final touch of this look is a very simple lipstick in a beautiful brown shade. Since the look already has so much “glow” to it, I balanced it with a matte finish. I used the Nykaa Matte To Last ! Liquid Lipstick – Madras-Kaapi 05. What I love about this product is that it you don’t need a lipliner and it sets really fast and lasts for hours. A super go-to lipstick.
That’s all there is to it!
